That is all I have to say. Even though the restaurant got slammed today, we handled it with no problems because there was no one there to mess up my flow. Have a plan and follow it!! I started out annoyed. I was not at work yesterday due to a bridal shower and I walk in today, nice and early, (hoping to get some extra work done) and I get slammed with gossip and issues of yesterday. I should expect it. It just worries me because I'm leaving for two weeks on Monday....so, someone is going to have to take care of all of this...and I hope someone will.

I met the rudest patron today, however. My server placed the check on their table as they were done with their food and wine. In about 15 minutes, he checked back to see if they had put their credit card inside. They handed him back the check and informed him they were not ready to pay yet..... WOW. So he came to talk to me about it because he didn't know what to do. So, I sent him back out to ask if there is anything else he can get them (mind you, they were the last table, the kitchen was all cleaned up and most of the lights were already off) and that he would leave the check for them whenever they are ready to pay. Then they asked him if the restaurant was closed.....clearly, they had one too many drinks or are just not observant..... Music off, half the lights off, bar was closed...... Anywho. At least they left him a decent tip.

FYI: Handing back the server the check and informing him that you are not ready to pay is RUDE. If you would like something else, please just inform the server. If you are not ready to pay, just leave it there until you are. =)

P.S. For working in a restaurant..I'm always hungry...=(
